The wife of the British cultural attache in Bombay, Mrs Tullis has been in England visiting her sick sister. A somewhat puritanical mother-hen of a woman, Henrietta disapproves of many of the activities of young people in this modern age, but she has a warm sense of humour, a kind heart and a formidable will. She is also an excellent source of information about India.

She is the prime organiser of Table 8’s “Songs From Gilbert and Sullivan” recital on the final night of the voyage

Julian is a minor diplomat, recently posted to India. He was encountered on [[the Viceroy of India]] where he was one of the passengers on table 8 in the dining room.

Julian is handsome and debonair but somewhat oily and some people find him almost instantly unlikable. Despite this he has a way with the ladies and considers himself God's gift to women.

On the Viceroy he consistently pursued [[Patricia Berry]], forcing [[Withers]] to step in on several occasions to insulate her from his predatory 'affections'.

Julian smokes and drinks heavily and is notably bad at every game or sport he turns his hand to, probably becuase he's more concerned about looking good than playing well.

The travelling companion of Miss [[Francesca Nicholson]], Patricia is the daughter of a wealthy banker and lives a quiet life of voluntary work and solitary pleasures. She likes to read romantic novels such as the work of Jane Austen or the Brontes and dresses conservatively, although she is quite pretty when she makes the effort.

En route to India she found herself the object of [[Julian Knight]]'s afections which led to Captain [[Withers]] stepping in to protect her from that obvious cad. Consequently she ended up spending a lot of time with Withers, and despite the Captain's efforts to keep things purely platonic seems to have somewhat fallen for him.
