~~An associate of~~ [[~~Lawrence Bacon]], named by [[Delia Morrison]]. Coombes was apparently a dangerous man, and he fits the description of [[the Tall Man]].~~ %redirect [[The Tall Man]]

~~The investigators met Coombes (now positively identified as~~ The Tall Man) again when they arrived in [[Carcosa]], which had apparently been brought to Earth by the writings of [[Alexander Roby]]. The apparent death of his former employer and the strange city itself appear to have rendered Coombes quite insane. As the invetigators made to leave Carcosa, Coombes attacked, provoking a knife fight with [[Andrew Saunders]].

~~Coombes is assumed to be dead, having presumably been shot by [[Yolanda]]. In any case he is trapped in [[Carcosa~~]]~~, wherever that may now be.~~
