Captain George Withers is a career soldier. An officer in the Second Battalion of the Coldstream Guards, he is currently stationed at Victoria barracks, Windsor. He is a veteran of the Great War, during which he met Doctor Frederick Bartlett.
Family
George has a younger sister (Anna), married to Albert Newman (Chemist). They both live in London. Parents both dead, father early on, mother rather more recently - George was 'the man of the household' at an early age and has a strong sense of family duty and responsiblity due to this.
Values
Captain Withers aims to further the greatness of the British Empire and believes wholeheartedly in the goodness and decency of it's population.
Friends
Percy Whiteman - old school friend. He currently lives around Bath tending a small farm.
Major Edward Danby, his commanding officer during the war, now a good friend and someone he respects and admires enormously. He resides at the same base.
