| The investigators met Coombes (now positively identified as The Tall Man) again when they arrived in [[Carcosa]], which had apparently been brought to Earth by the writings of [[Alexander Roby]]. The apparent death of his former employer and the strange city itself appear to have rendered Coombes quite insane. As the invetigators made to leave Carcosa, Coombes attacked, provoking a knife fight with [[Andrew Saunders]].
